5 Must-know first-aid techniques for the outdoor enthusiast 

Here are 5 first-aid techniques for the outdoor enthusiast to help deal with acute and common outdoor wounds, such as cuts, scratches and lacerations.

Stop the bleeding. 

Apply direct pressure to the wound with a clean cloth or bandage until the bleeding stops. If the wound is big or deep, raise the injured area above your heart.
